One of the grapes that has long fascinated us at the vineyard, our planting of Cabernet Sauvignon, at a very young age produced wines of tremendous depth and integration that were nothing short of astounding. Consisting of 60% fruit planted in 1991 and 40% planted in 2001, the 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon shows the tremendous differentiation between the two sites, even though they are separated by less than 100 yards. This wine was created in our traditionally inspired low-intervention winemaking style. Post-fermentation, the wine was placed into a 20-month oak barrel program consisting of new, one and two-year old American and French oak.

A slightly cooler year then the previous few, 2006, produced a wine rife with the presence of darker fruit and an abundance of cassis. The presence of earth and spice notes on both the nose and in the palate are fully integrated with the elegant tannin structure. This combination of masterful integration and subtle tannin leads to a fascinatingly elegant mouthfeel and lingering finish. 973 cases produced.
